Environmental Permitting

Environmental Permitting

Logika Group’s environmental permitting experts provide a comprehensive service to manage and deliver environmental permit submissions to regulators. We effectively manage the entire process, from the initial pre-application consultation and the development and submission of the application forms and supplementary technical information, to handling post-submission queries and the discharge of pre-operational or improvement conditions.

Permit Applications

We routinely produce permit applications for new sites; variations to existing permits; transfer and partial transfer of permits; and ongoing compliance assessment, through to closure and surrender. Our experience covers Standard Rules and Part B permits through to the most complex Part A(1) installation permits.

Sector experience

We have extensive sector experience including: refining; large and medium combustion plant (including data centres); organic and inorganic chemicals; ferrous and non-ferrous metals; food and drink; waste treatment; waste incineration; minerals; pulp and paper; glass; ceramics; animal by-products; and surface treatment (of metals and using organic solvents).

Cross-group working

Our permitting experts also work closely with their environmental policy and economics colleagues who are at the forefront of UK and European industrial pollution control policy, having led multiple frameworks and studies that contributed to the initial development of the Industrial Emissions Directive, its implementation and subsequent evaluation.

A flexible service

Our service offering is flexible, whether clients simply require initial guidance on the need or type of permit required or need support in completing the entire or just specific areas of the application. This can also include the development of supporting technical studies including – but not limited to: Air quality assessments, Best Available Technique (BAT) assessments, Management plans, Noise impact assessments, Site condition reports, Surface water risk assessments

Studies and application support

We deliver a complete application package for new applications, variations, transfers and surrenders covering the simplest Standard Rules permits to the most complex, bespoke Part A(1) installation permits. In addition, we provide the supporting studies for applications including air quality assessments, noise assessments, BAT assessments, surface water risk assessments and site condition reports.

Reviews and assessments

Through gap analysis of existing processes, we can identify solutions – such as the application of BAT – and respond to Regulation 61 notices. With our partners, our team can manage emissions monitoring surveys, drafting reports to demonstrate compliance with emission limits. We can also audit stack emissions monitoring surveys and operator monitoring arrangements.

“Our scientific understanding enables us to integrate better air quality into development designs — not as an afterthought, but from the very start.”
